The Game Boy was Nintendo's first portable console with interchangeable game cartridges. When the Game Boy saw the light of day in 1989, the console entered the market in a plain grey. Over the years, colourful variants of the housing were offered for sale. The Game Boy pictured here is from the "Limited Edition" series, which was offered in red, green, black, yellow, white, blue, and clear (transparent) cases. The white version was the latest and by far the rarest color available in the special edition series.
