More Info

  • The Casio MX-10 is an official MSX1 home computer released by Casio for the Japanese market in 1985 as the successor to the Casio PV-16. It retained 16 KB of RAM and 16 KB of VRAM, while Casio removed the built-in cassette interface to make the computer smaller and cheaper. Cassette functionality required the separate FA-32 or FA-33 CMT interface package. The MX-10 was first shown to the public at the Japan Electronics Show '85 (October 17–22, 1985) and was launched at ¥19,800. It was available in standard Black (BK) and Red (RD) color variations. Neither color is documented as a Limited Edition. The computer was specifically aimed at the Japanese market and was later adapted for international markets as the MX-15. It supported MSX cartridges and could be expanded with the Casio KB-10 expansion unit, which added additional cartridge slots and other connectivity.
